NOTHING COMPARES TO GOD’S WISDOM
❖ Proverbs 3:15 NLT:
Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
When you look at precious metals and precious stones, you see how beautiful they are. Think about what you feel when you see them. The same way that you look at something beautiful and want to touch it or hold it, that’s how you should desire wisdom. The Spirit of God would never lead you into a trap, and neither would the angels. These situations are all preventative. You will get to a place where you won't find yourself in them anymore, but if you do, begin with praying from deep in your heart, asking the Lord for wisdom. Let the Spirit give you a way out and show you what to do. He will do it. The goal here is that you get to a place where you're led by the Spirit, and you no longer find yourself in these situations.
RIGHT-ANGLE TURNS
Over the years, the Lord has helped me by telling me ahead of time, where to go and what to do. He would say, “You're not going to talk to this person. You're not going to take this job. You're not going to do this. You're going to do this instead.” It's all preemptive, and it circumvents the problem, so you don't find yourself in these situations as much anymore. It means that your life might be more restrictive in certain ways. It’s because you might be overexposed to people in situations that are not good, and the enemy is allowed to use those people. So, you have to remember that. The world and the world’s system and the spirits are going to influence people that have no resistance to the enemy. You have to keep that in mind while you're out and about. You're going to have to listen to your heart, which might mean that you have to take a right-angle turn. By that, I mean that you think you're going straight and you're going to go here or there, but suddenly, the Spirit of God will tell you to take a turn and go a different way. That has happened to me quite a lot.
Discuss with each other the situations that the Lord has prevented you from being in.
THE LORD PREVENTS YOU AND INFORMS YOU
I remember when I just got saved at 19 years old, 42 years ago, I had just become born again and was getting ready for work, and I was shaving. As I was shaving, while I'm looking in the mirror, everything disappeared, and I was at the intersection, about a mile from my house. I saw myself going towards the intersection, and somebody was coming through and did not stop at the stop sign. There was a crash, a wreck, and it was a really bad one because the person was going very fast. Suddenly, I went from being transported or translated to that intersection and watching the whole thing to being back shaving again. The Lord said, “You're not going to work right away. You're going to be ten minutes late. You're going to wait ten minutes. So, I put my shaver down, and I thought, “What just happened?” I was a brand-new Christian, but this began happening to me right after I became a Christian. I started seeing the future. I thought to myself, “I'm going to be killed in an accident if I don't delay myself by ten minutes.” I delayed myself by ten minutes and left. When I got to that intersection, right outside my house, there was a wreck.
They had blocked off the intersection, and it was really bad. There were ambulances and police there. I thought, “The Lord just didn't want me to be involved with that at all.” If I would have just gone the normal way, I would have been in that accident, and it would have been a bad situation.
❖ I want to encourage you that the whole goal of sharing with you this week is so that you get to the place where you don't get in those situations anymore. It is possible. The Lord navigates me and changes my path, and it makes people feel uncomfortable sometimes. Kathi, my wife, understands. I tell her, “We can't do what we were going to do, we’ve got to change our plans. We’ve got to change our schedule. We’ve got to do this instead.” I have to do it because the Lord is telling me, “No, this is what you're going to do,” and my staff and everybody understand that if it's changing, it's because it's a right-angle turn. It's a strategy against the enemy, that we're going to do certain things a certain way.
When you gain wisdom, the Spirit of God can show you and talk to you. He can help you in any situation. If someone is coming against you and they confront you, sometimes it's best not to say anything at all. The Spirit of the Lord says to not even defend yourself, but sometimes He'll tell you what to say or not say or tell you what to do or not do. You should just follow His lead.
PRAYER:
Father. I thank You for all our warriors all over the world. Thank You for Warrior Fellowship. Thank you, Lord, that You touch everyone right now, Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Touch with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of You, Father. I thank You right now that Your Holy Spirit is ministering to every individual watching. I thank You, Lord, they're all encouraged, and I thank You, Lord, that they're going to understand and hear the voice of the Spirit and that you're going to lead and guide them in the name of Jesus. Amen
Discuss:
1. Talk about wisdom and how it is revelation knowledge, not a soul realm type of knowledge and wisdom. It’s a spiritual revelation. Differentiate between good sayings and revelation knowledge by the Spirit. Revelation knowledge is when God takes scripture and puts it into understanding so you can see, know, and learn how to operate in difficult situations.
2. Talk about what real wisdom is. Real wisdom is when the Spirit of God can talk to you but it's more than just an audible voice. You may get a vision of the future in a flash, and it will help you strategize and walk around it rather than having to go through it.
3. Discuss how God can show you things ahead of time and keep you out of bad situations.
4. Pray for each other and share some testimonies about how God came through for you in a bad situation.
