Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week<\/a>.<\/a><\/strong> I urge you to share your comments using the Comment link<\/a><\/strong>. Please<\/em>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n We have to bring this to the very thing that we experience from time to time, perhaps throughout our day or the week or occasionally, because it could be rooted in something, as Dr Kevin was saying, a traumatic experience early in life or perhaps recently. And we seem then to react to situations in ways that are somewhat out of character, or out of character for the situation; our response may not be in keeping with what would be a better response in the particular circumstance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, that could be due to many different things: people misunderstanding one another, not relating because of cultural differences, or experiences that shaped the culture we grew up in. Or it could be due to a traumatic experience. It could have been a strange reaction to your strange reaction, which could have been due to feelings of rejection or abuse or neglect you may have experienced as a child from a parent, sibling, or school teacher; it could have been due to many different things. And as a child, you have no way of interacting with those circumstances psychologically; you did not at that time have the mental capacity to deal with neglect or abuse, and these things shape our responses and reactions.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n Q<\/strong> ) 1According to Romans 8:15, we have been given the Spirit of full acceptance. What does it mean to be fully accepted by God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your Comment<\/strong><\/a>. Please<\/em>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n I love the Passion Translation rendering of Romans 8:15. The spirit of religious duty – Paul was speaking to Jewish and Christians of his day. Still, I believe, of course, as we all know, he’s talking to all of us today, however we may have come across this verse. Religious duties don’t save you. A relationship with Jesus Christ and full acceptance of Him saves you. Can you trust God enough, regardless of the past, in your encounters with people, even those in the church, to read Romans 8:15 and say those beautiful words, beloved Father, with a heartfelt expression? God is bringing me there; I really feel that these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do you feel fully accepted? Have people made you feel less, perhaps your own parents? The fact of the matter is God loves you so much more than any other person in your life can possibly ever do and chose you before you were even born! And if you’re reading this because you came upon it and you are not saved, you can have that relationship through a prayer asking Jesus<\/a><\/strong> to be your Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n Q<\/strong> ) 2 Discuss how the enemy attempts to bring us into bondage to fear through the spirit of religious duty. How does God free us from this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your Comment<\/strong><\/a>. Please<\/em>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n The enemy brings us to bondage and fear. Does that sound familiar? Bondage and fear. Did the news bring you to a place of bondage and fear? Did going to school, coming home, or going out bring you to a place of fear? Do you go into Church as if you’re performing a religious duty, even though it might be a negative experience? Did church cause trauma in your life and push you away from Christ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n God does set us free from all this, regardless of the circumstances, and those who are free are set free indeed. I always stress in my discussions that you find a church where you are loved and supported, and it is so that those relationships, those bonds, are strong and noticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can’t expect people to give you what only God can give you, so don’t get too hung up and disappointed with people, because none of us are perfect. The more I release and let God take the wheel, the better my circumstances are. We have to live our lives like a mirror that reflects Christ, not out of duty but out of compassion, once the Love of Christ transforms you – takes you to a place where it just flows naturally.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n Q<\/strong> ) 3 Why is it important to surrender our will to the Lord? And why is it crucial to understand the root of what is bothering us to do so?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your Comment<\/strong><\/a>. Please<\/em>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n Did you ever have a day that was not going so well, where you thought you failed the Lord so many times, even while trying to focus in prayer and worship? I once heard a pastor say, “We can’t imagine what it is like to worship the Lord in Heaven, where we are set free from a fallen soul and body.” That mind, will, and emotion, our soul, that drifts into so many places. The day will come when you can stand before our Lord and worship Him in spirit and truth, without the body, the physical body that decays, nor the fallen souls that have us wonder and question ourselves and those around us.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n Q<\/strong> ) 4 Discuss the strategy of the enemy’s attack through rejection and abandonment from childhood trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your Comment<\/strong><\/a>. Please<\/em>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n The enemy will always try to show you what a failure you are, how you failed, and that circumstances are the way they are because of this and that and the other thing. God does the opposite. Think of the prodigal and how the father ran to him and gave him the best clothing and his very own ring. That’s what God is doing to all of us. He’s running to us with His very best and ready to create a feast in honor of us, regardless of how you failed, regardless of what’s happened to you, regardless of what you have done and what you have not done. God has forgiven you and chosen you because He loves you so much. Never forget that. Fully trust in God, fully trust Jesus Christ our Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n Q<\/strong> ) 5 Take some time to allow the Holy Spirit to show you what is bothering you. Pray with each other for healing from traumas and the effects of rejection and abandonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your Comment<\/strong><\/a>. \nPrayer: Lord, I thank You that You’re coming in right now with Your healing power. Touch each one in my family, all over the world, as we pray together. I pray that we all experience Your love and healing power, knowing we are fully accepted. Thank You, Lord, for healing many thousands of people. Father, thank You for being our God, showing up right now, and bringing healing. In the name of Jesus, I bind every evil spirit of rejection and abandonment. I command every evil spirit to desist your maneuvers against the family of God right now. By the authority of Jesus Christ, I drive you out. Trauma and rejection, I drive you out right now. I declare that deliverance has come to your house, in Jesus’s name, amen.
