Jesus is The Word
Everything that Jesus said in the Bible was who He was as a person.
~ Kevin Zadai
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
—John 1:1-3
DISCUSSION:
If I could sum up what it was like when I met Jesus, it would be the very fact that everything He ever said in the Bible, He was as a person. There was no difference between Him and His word. He was everything you could glean from the word as well as the peripheral of Him walking down the streets and talking with people. Jesus
was all that the Word of God made Him out to be. He was in the beginning with God, and everything was made through Him and with Him. In the books of Hebrews
and Romans, you will find that the world was framed by words. They were the words of Jesus Christ. Jesus was the one who spoke everything into existence. When He came to the earth, He did the will of the Father. Jesus came back in the form of a man, and it didn’t diminish the Father at all. He could die, go to hell in the belly of the earth for three days, and then be raised from the dead, and it didn't diminish God at all. Jesus was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God because He and God are one.
o When you read the word of God, are you taking in the person named Jesus?
o Discuss: The characteristics of Jesus in the Bible and how He becomes this in
your life?
WHAT THE WORD DOES IN OUR LIVES
God is revealed through His Word, and Jesus is the incarnate one because He walked among us. The word became flesh and dwelt among us (see John 1:14). He is the word, and we have the honor and privilege of having that word in our mouth and our breath. We have intimacy with Him when the Holy Ghost prays through us from our mouth. When you’re in need in your life, and you seek Him, the intimacy comes. His word will not return to Him void. He’s going to accomplish everything on the earth that He was sent to do (see Isaiah 55:11). There is no
difference between Him and His word. They are one and the same. He has placed such an importance on us knowing Jesus through the word in an intimate way —not
just by reading it and getting knowledge but also through intimacy. Jesus is the manifestation of all the promises and the word being alive in us.
The word is a plumb line; it’s the basis for everything.
No matter what you’re feeling or whatever the situation, the word is what centers us.
The word gives us everything we need to have life.
The word is life.
Let it determine who you are, and speak to who you are.
Be a student of the word.
Develop a love for the word.
Having a love for the word is how it becomes a revelation in your life.
Meditate day and night on the word of God. (see Psalm 1:2)
The word of God becomes a reality when we meditate on it, and it changes us.
Discuss: What does it mean to keep your word when you give it to someone? How has this study changed the way you will be loyal to your commitments?
Discuss: How when God speaks, it doesn’t return to Him void. Explain how God is trustworthy and how He keeps His word.
Talk about how we tend to compare God to people who have not kept their word and how we judge God by the things we’ve encountered with people. How has this compromised your faith in people and undermined your faith in God?
Explain how God is trustworthy. If He has said it, He will do it. Discuss how He confirms His word with signs and wonders.
PRAYER:
Father, I thank you so much for everyone, all the warriors all over the world. Thank you, Father, for your power and that your word is true and that you are your word
and that you will perform your word. I thank you that it will not come back void, but it will accomplish just like Isaiah Fifty-five says that it will go forth and accomplish that which is intended. It will not return to you void. And I thank you for that Father, that you are faithful and that you will do what you say. I thank you for the authority
of the Holy Spirit right now coming upon all of our friends all over the world and that they will be so encouraged Father and so ministered to. And we just ask for your
healing power right now; your love to just permeate all of us in Warrior Fellowships right now; we receive your love. We receive an affirmation that you will keep your word to us, and we thank you for that, Lord. We thank you that you're faithful to your word in the name of Jesus.
