God Gives You the Desires of Your Heart

DISCUSSION:

The Lord has brought me through so many things, and just like you're going through so many things, God will bring you through. He is looking at all that's in your heart and all the dreams He's put in there. Everything will work out, but we need to be settled and comforted at times. I come to you, and I believe God is helping you in every way.

I believe that all the people, all my family, all over the world, and everyone involved with Warrior Notes and the Warrior Fellowships, are all in unity, and we're all being built up. So, I encourage you never to give up on your dreams. Never forget that God loves you; He has put certain things inside of you, and He's not forgotten about them. The experience I had with Jesus when standing before Him was that I realized that when I looked into his eyes.

I saw that He had thought of me and that He had purposed in His heart to make me. When I was with Him and had that experience where I met Him, I was sent back when I looked into His eyes. I saw the process of Him thinking about me and forming me inside of Him, and then He breathed me out into my mother's womb.

I realized that everything that was in me from the beginning was all God's plan and purpose, and that was His intent from the beginning, that I would be successful in completing everything that was written about me. It's for every single person that's ever been created, and I know that it doesn't happen as often as we would like. God's intent for every person is that they would live their life down here to the fullest for the purpose of God that He had written about them for ages past.

HE FULFILLS THE DESIRE OF YOUR HEART

Psalm 37:4:

Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

I want to talk to you about some things you might not understand about yourself. Often I think about why do I want this. Why is this like this? I ask myself, Why do I like this? Why is it that I'm frustrated? I ask myself questions, and I'm surprised at how I don't often know why I am the way I am. As I investigate it and meditate on the word of God and I start to be transformed in my mind; my mind starts to be trained to think like the Holy God that we serve, the Father who represents Himself through the Word. I begin to meditate on who God is and His plans and purposes as they represent the Bible. I started meditating on Jesus and thinking about His word and what He said. My mind starts to conform, and then I realize, okay, this is of me, and this is not of me. This is not of God, or this is just me, and then this is of God, so this isn't of me. This is something that came from Heaven.

It has to do with the origin of why we think the way we do and why we feel the way we do. Where does it come from? The answer to this is in Hebrews. Hebrews 4:2 talks about the word of God being quick and active as a two-edged sword and that it is so sharp and surgical that it actually can separate between soul and spirit, it says. And those words are different. People often interchange the soul and the spirit as being the same thing, but they're not because Paul distinguishes between them and uses two different words.

In Thessalonians, he talks about the whole part of man being made up of spirit, soul, and body in 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

• You have a spirit, you have a soul, and you have a body, and there are three parts.

• The word of God divides between the soul and the spirit, which means that it appears to be one and that only the word of God or the sword of the Spirit can divide between it and show that they are two different things.

• There isn't the ability to interchange the spirit and the soul as being the same thing because they're separate according to the word of God.

 All of you, as I'm talking to you, there are things about you, parts of you that are your mind, your will, and your emotions. That's the soul part of you. It's the word in Greek; if you look it up where Paul uses the word soul in the Bible, it's the word for psychology, it's the word psyche. It has to do with our mind, will, and emotions.

YOUR REDEEMED AND TRANSFORMED SELF IS ETERNAL
The word for our heart or spirit is another word; Spirito, which means the real you, the one who's the eternal self.

• That's the part of you that came from God.

• God breathed you out, and you became a living soul.

• God gave you life through His breath, and you were a spirit that became a living soul.

• You have the mind, will, and emotions attached to your spirit.

When I was in Heaven, I was still able to reason and think, and I was Kevin, but a lot of what was down here about me didn't come with me. I had my spirit and soul with me, but only the part that was redeemed, the part that was transformed and conformed to God's will, stayed with me.

I was renewed in my spirit because of the born-again experience, but there were parts of my soul that didn't come with me.

I didn't have the ability to remember certain things about this life when I was with Jesus. It was only those things that I needed to know, and the rest of it stayed here as well as my body. I realized that many people don't understand this, so I wanted to come and show you this. 

• You must delight yourself in the Lord, focus on Him, and worship Him.

• He will look at your heart and say, "I'm going to give them the desires of their heart."

• You'll find out when you get to Heaven that those desires (the real you) were put there by God, so if you desire to do something, you have to discern if that's you or God.

• After the word of God divides them, you can delight yourself in the Lord, who will give you those desires because He put them there.

• It's the whole idea of not allowing selfish things to get in.

• A lot of what we have to do down here to have this process work is to eliminate selfish desires.

• You have to get away from the things that are just you.

• Jesus taught me to build myself up in the spirit by praying in the Holy Spirit and meditating on the word of God.

• Build yourself up so that your spirit becomes so lit up inside that it's obvious these other things are not from the spirit.

• There is no way to contrast them until you build yourself up in the spirit.

• Building yourself up causes you to see clearly.

When I looked in the eyes of Jesus, I saw my destiny. I saw everything I was and purposed to be and do while I was down here. It was all complete, and it seemed so simple and so straightforward.

Before I went there, I wasn't sure about much, even when I returned. Over the years, I've had to be diligent to stay in there with the goals and my purpose because it seems to want to fade from me if I'm not careful. I understand the warfare you're all going through, but I saw that God's plan and His intent for you are very simple and straightforward, but the realm down here obscures that.

How does building yourself up in the spirit cause you to see clearly?

DISCERNING GOD’S INTENT FOR YOU

When I dream at night and in a dream state, I can see future events sometimes, and I see the things that I would desire or want. I have to discern in my heart if those things are of God or the soul.

We're often being fed in the soulish realm to motivate us. I’ve thought, “I'm not even hungry.” I know that you've had this happen. You can say, “I think I'm going to skip lunch today, “I'm not hungry.” Then you see a commercial about food, and suddenly you're hungry. Or after you decide you're not going to eat, somebody comes by and says, “Hey, we're going to your favorite restaurant. Do you want to come?” All of a sudden, you get hungry, and it changes. That's just an example, but you felt like you were supposed to skip a meal and didn't need to eat, and maybe the Lord was just using all that you were sensing not to eat and fast. Then all this stuff came and changed your mind. That is where you must discern God's intent for you. You have to discern this before the battle comes because you've got to draw your lines for battle before you go to war. You can't just wait until you get there and then draw all the lines because you're going to cross them.

If you do this beforehand and say, “I'm going to fast today, or I'm going to do this today,” and then just stick with it, then you keep your word, then satan cannot get through to you. Then you can discern what is God and what is not, but if you're just going to go by what you feel, I just gave you an example of how that can change. I could think about food and get hungry, even though I wasn't hungry until I started thinking about it.

Jesus said to seek ye first, the kingdom, and all its righteousness, and all these things would be added to you (Matthew 6:33). God wants to give you your desires. He wants to give you the provision you need, but he wants you to seek Him and His kingdom and focus on that, and then everything is in the proper order. Then you're going to see God come through for you in a mighty way.

PRAYER:

Thank You, Lord. That Your people are going to hear Your voice, and they're not going to be able to hear the voice of a stranger, but they're only going to hear Your voice, and it's going to be strong. Father, thank You that You want to give Your people, Your children, the desires of their heart. Thank You, Lord. That You're breaking through right now. You're the Lord of the breakthrough, and You're breaking through right now in the name of Jesus. And we're going to see signs and wonders and miracles happen in Jesus' name. Thank You, Lord. The provision is coming in Jesus' name. So, we just know that God wants to break confusion in Your life, and we know that the Spirit is going to have his way.

1. Discuss why you think that you can go from making a decision in the spirit but you get motivated to do the opposite and change your mind.  How and why are the soul and spirit contrasting each other?

2. What can we do to establish boundaries to keep in with what God desires for us?

3. Discuss: God wants to bless and favor us, and He wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but we have to delight ourselves in Him, where we're fully satisfied in Him, and look to Him to provide for us.
