The Holy Spirit is a Lawyer Who's Never Lost a Case

"The Spirit of the Lord causes freedom to come so that you are no longer shackled in bondage."
~Kevin Zadai

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor,
Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in
My name [in my place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything
that I have taught you.
John 14:26 AMP

DISCUSSION:
This week we will discuss the Holy Spirit as our lawyer. This comes from John 14:26, when Jesus said He would send One who is an advocate or a standby. The word advocate comes from the idea of a defense lawyer. A defense lawyer is a counselor who notifies defendants of their rights and advocates for them in court.
This is what the Holy Spirit does for us.

The Holy Spirit will defend you by informing you of your rights and the pending justice in your case. As long as you yield to the Holy Spirit's advice, you will be fine. This is the way it is with a lawyer. Lawyers want you to know everything, so they coach you, guiding you on what to say and what not to say in court. Essentially, the lawyer speaks on your behalf. When in court, you defer to your lawyer, relying on them to represent you well.

o Why is the Holy Spirit described as our advocate and counselor?

THE HOLY SPIRIT ENFORCES COVENANT BLESSINGS
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:17

The Lord is the Spirit; wherever He is, there is freedom. The Holy Spirit enforces the covenant and blessing, whereas evil spirits enforce curses. Demons desire to transfer through your family bloodline to continue propagating those curses. However, if you allow the Holy Spirit to enforce the blessing, He breaks the curse.
He causes freedom to come so you're no longer shackled in bondage.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My father and you see Me no more; of judgement, because the ruler of the world is judged.

I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
John 16:7–15

In John 16:7–15, Jesus tells the disciples, "It is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Helper will not come." The Helper is the Holy Spirit, our Advocate, and Counselor. Jesus had to depart in order to send Him to us. He had to go back to Heaven, then send the Holy Spirit in His place; that's the legal way.

Jesus listed several things that the Holy Spirit would do when He came. He would convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The conviction of sin is because the world does not believe in Jesus. This is referring to unbelievers, not Christians. The Holy Spirit's role in the world is to reveal factors that pertain to righteousness and judgment because they don't believe in Him. In 80–90% of the world, that's what's happening.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR COUNSELOR, ADVOCATE, AND STANDBY
The Father is the supreme Judge of all. Jesus is also our advocate since He argues our case to the Father. He represents us and intercedes on our behalf (Romans 8:34). The Holy Spirit has been sent to dwell in our hearts; He leads, guides, and counsels us. John 16:13 says that when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide us into all truth, which means reality. You must realize that the Holy Spirit is absolute truth, and He is not holding anything back from us.

When I was in Heaven, I saw that many people, including myself, were deceived. I didn't understand that the Holy Spirit leads us in all truth, which is available to us. The scripture says that He's going to lead you into all truth. Many Christians do not accept this, but the Holy Spirit can even show you things to come. He will reveal hidden wisdom and guide you. Even though the world will be judged, believers will not. You will be led by the Holy Spirit, who will guide you into all truth.

The Holy Spirit does not speak on His own authority; He only reveals what the Father says to Him. He will not speak on his own, just like Jesus didn't speak on His own (John 12:49). He will tell you of things to come and warn you ahead of time. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus. He's going to take what is of the Lord and declare it to you. He will remind you of things that Jesus said. The Holy Spirit will take what the Father is transferring from Himself and give it to you. Therefore, Jesus said, He will take what's Mine and declare it unto you (John 16:15).

Even though Jesus is in Heaven, nothing has stopped the transfer to us. He has left the earth, ascended to Heaven, and is now seated on high. The Holy Spirit is now the One who is our counselor, our advocate, and our standby. He's interceding for us and helping us pray, say the right things, and do what's right. He's allowing us to rest in peace while He coordinates with the angels concerning the plan of God for your life. This is the absolute truth that I saw in Heaven. So when I declare all this to you by the scriptures I've shared, you should sense peace welling up in your heart.

GOD ONLY GOVERNS THOSE WHO YIELD, NOT THE WORLD
But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear.
Matthew 13:16

You also must understand that God has your life under His control, yet He is not in control of the world. God doesn't control the world like you think because John 16:8 says that the Holy Spirit has come to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. This doesn't sound like they are obeying God in any way. If people are disobedient, God is not in control there, and you will see manifestations of that rebellion.

You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; They lacked nothing; Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.
Nehemiah 9:20–21

In times of trouble, God will speak to His people and deliver those who have ears to hear and eyes to see; in other words, He helps those who are willing. That's what He did through Moses when He delivered the people of Israel out of Egypt, which is a type of the world (Exodus 6–15). The Lord allowed the Israelites to experience all the miracles, signs, and wonders in the desert. He supernaturally fed them and gave them water. He prevented them from getting sick for 40 years in the desert. Many died because of their rebellion, but not from hunger, thirst, or disease (Numbers 14:20–29). They were rebellious and did not want to enter into the Promised Land.
Moses was 120 years old and in perfect health when he died before the Lord (Deuteronomy 34:1–7). He struck the rock twice when God instructed him to speak to it the second time (Numbers 20:7–12). Therefore, God said he would not enter the promised land; that was his punishment for disobedience, not because God was unfaithful to the covenant.

GOD IS SEPARATING HIS REMNANT
Peace, I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

The point is that God is forming the remnant in our nation and the world today. The governments of the world are being controlled by satan (2 Corinthians 4:3–4). Yet within those governments, the people that want to follow God, who fear Him, and who are allowing the Holy Spirit to guide them are finding peace. Within the peace of God, which is "shalom," they're finding supernatural provisions, food and water, health, and all they need, just like the children of Israel did. Like the biblical one, today's remnant is a smaller group of people. It doesn't involve the whole world. Many do not understand what is happening now, but this was always the plan of God.
Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:17–18 NLT
If a nation doesn't follow God, then God will call out those who want to serve Him, and they will be separate.

• When the Israelites lived in Egypt, they dwelled in the land of Goshen.

• If you read Exodus 8:20–12:42, you will see that the land of Goshen was not judged by the plagues that came upon Egypt.

• When the people of God adhered to Moses's instructions and applied the blood on the doorposts, the death angel passed over.

• There was a separation from the world and protection among God's people as the Lord delivered them from Egypt.

• There is also a separation and protection for God's remnant today.

The ministry of Warrior Fellowships is not called to fix the church's broken system, which has been influenced by the world. We are called to help hurting people who need God and are not part of a local church. This doesn't mean that people should not be part of a church. We want to reach the many people in our local areas who don't want to go to church. Maybe they've been hurt or have seen the fakeness and lack of power in the local church. Whatever their reason for not attending church, we will invite them to our gatherings, love them, pray for them, and ensure they have food, water, and fellowship.

WE ARE CALLED TO DO THE GREATER WORKS
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works
I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in My name, and I will do it, so the Son can bring glory to the Father.
John 14:12–13 NLT

You must understand that the Holy Spirit is your lawyer. He is the one that is going to bring your case before God. It was to our advantage that Jesus went to the Father because He sent back the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has no limits; therefore, the greater works can come through you. Jesus was limited to Himself on the earth at first, then He sent out His twelve disciples and the 72 (Matthew 10:1; Luke 10:1). Yet when the Holy Spirit came, His work was multiplied through thousands, and now we have hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of Christians on the earth. After the twelve and the 70 that were with Jesus, the greater works have come through many others throughout generations. We, too, are called to do the greater works.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You that we will do the greater works, empowered by the Holy Spirit. We yield to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to have full manifestation in all our meetings this week at Warrior Fellowships. Thank You, Lord, for reminding us that we're not called to fix the church or people; we're just called to love people and minister to them by the power of the Holy Spirit. I ask, Lord, that everyone would feel loved and accepted. May their needs be met. In the name of Jesus, I rebuke and drive out the enemy from everyone's finances, bodies, and minds. I command every evil spirit to desist your maneuvers right now, in the name of Jesus. Let go of the family of God. Thank You, Lord, for miracles in their finances, relationships, and bodies. Lord, thank You that demons are leaving now—they're vacating and never coming back, in the name of Jesus. Father, thank You for the blood and the name of Jesus. Amen.
