God’s Will – Is God Really in Charge

God’s Will – Is God Really in Charge

This is the topic that’s been so close to my heart. I try to tell people that God is not the author of death but the author of life. That Christ came to give us life and life more abundantly.  It seems impossible to get the idea across into people’s minds. They attribute disasters, disease, war, death, and on and on all upon God.  What bothers me is that we really stain the character of God. While we are trying to ascertain his authority, we attribute God with the characteristics that belong to the evil one.  What a tragedy! Kevin makes an excellent point. He says,

“Does God make you do anything?”

Now, we have to ask ourselves, what is it that God wants us to do?

We can find what God wants us to do within His word.  Now he does not make us obedient.  We have to choose.  He makes us righteous from eternity past to eternity future.  But the things we do in the here and now in this life while in this form with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, are subject to the bema judgment.  Though we are not condemned, we are judged on our works.

I think for myself, the hardest thing to do is just letting go of past hurts. Finding the place to forgive totally. But, honestly, it’s like holding onto an anchor that’s been thrown into the ocean when we hold on to those things with the past.

Thank you and God Bless
