Welcome to week 43 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link. Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link and then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson. I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy, but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.
Week 43_2023
This topic is always first and foremost in my heart. The Character of God. I have much to say and will create a message on this topic. First, let’s not blame God for our fallen state, the world that fell when we did, and the devil’s deeds. That’s good for starters, I would think.
Q o Why was it wrong for Job to sacrifice just in case his children sinned?
Your Comment. Please,
To bring a sacrifice for someone who sins is not in accordance with the law. I know the law is not mentioned in the Book of Job, and it is estimated that the Book of Job was written before the Law was given. But even when the Law was given, the person who sinned brought the offering. In other words, If I sin and go about my life with no repentance, my parents bringing a sacrifice to appease God will not work. My parents may pray for me, which is a good thing, but my sin’s forgiveness must be something I am consciously aware of and in need of, and the offering must be my willful repentance.
Jesus offered Himself for the sins of all humanity. This is the purpose of God calling out Abraham and making a people who would serve Him. Have you accepted the terms God has set forth for the Salvation of your soul? Just say this prayer titled Heaven.
Q 1) Discuss the seven ways satan attacked Job after God bragged about him. How did Job respond?
Your Comment. Please,
One thing that confuses me is that we read incredible statements given to us within the Old Testament. It’s as if they were Born Again, which could not be the case till the Holy Spirit came to indwell humanity. So, how is it that we read the OT and shout out Amen! How did they relate to what they were saying since the Holy Spirit did not possess them during this period? Reading Job 1:20-23 in Dr. Kevin’s transcript, you have to wonder how Job possesses such a powerful concept of the goodness of God.
There is much to be said here. You can do so by clicking on the comment link above for this question.
Q 2) According to John 10:10, how do you determine whether something is from God or the devil?
Your Comment. Please,
I know there are many ideas on this topic. Do not be afraid to share yours on the comment link.
The litmus test:
Did it kill?
Did it steal?
Did it destroy?
If it did, it was not from God. It was from satan.
Q 3) Discuss how the enemy tries to use circumstances to discredit God. Why is it important to discern what is taking place behind the scenes?
Your Comment. Please,
First and foremost, the person who matters the most to Job, his wife, tells Job to curse God and die, which is precisely what satan told God Job would do. But instead, Job blesses God’s name! You must know when God is working regardless of how savvy your friends might be when it comes to the things of God, whether they are speaking foolishly or for God.
Q 4) What does it mean to have extra oil ready for our lamps and wicks trimmed, as the five wise virgins did in Matthew 25:1–13?
Your Comment. Please,
We have to stay in God’s Word. We cannot just listen to ministers and hear worship music. We must have the Word before us and be inclined to hear that still-small voice.
Q 5) Can you think of a time when you refused to blame God and chose to worship Him in your time of testing?
Your Comment. Please,
……..?
Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests. Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai. If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly. Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. Christians should not be given over to situations but take appropriate actions when the waves rage. God Bless you and keep you! Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions. Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggests. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.
God Bless, and thank you,
Scott.
