No Pride In Heaven – Week 43

No Pride In Heaven – Week 43

The video

Q. In what ways will you lay down your agenda and pride and realize He is your source for all the answers in life?

A. One thing I find that is quite amazing is the more I find my rest in Him, the easier everything goes. Just thinking of the verse where Jesus tells us we are in this world but not of this world. It doesn’t mean we do not deal with the reality of everyday situations and circumstances. But, instead, we are dealing in a way that is most beneficial for all parties.

I take the subway five days a week, coming and going to work. I love my job. But as you might know, public transportation may not be too user-friendly in more ways than one. But listening to praise music and finding my rest in Him makes all the difference in the world.

Q1. In what ways do we resist God’s will, and how is it that God can resist us?

A1. It seems to be an automatic reaction. We react to the conditions around us as opposed to being in control through humility.

Q2. Discuss: What it means that there is no pride in Heaven.

A2. I cannot even imagine anyone being prideful in Heaven. Heylel was cast out due to his pride. And all the saints lay their crowns down at Jesus’ feet.

Revelation 4:10
10 the twenty-four elders will fall before the One sitting upon the throne, and they will worship the One living to the ages of the ages, and they will cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will, they existed and were created.”

Q3. Discuss: How you can get into the flow of favor and the grace of God.

A3. It is good to know that God always wants to give us His favor and blessing. It’s good to know God is for us and not against us. And it is good to know if we submit ourselves, His yoke is very light. He carries us on the wings of eagles.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

Kathi Zadai mentions that those prideful in one form or another will never submit to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now they may call themselves by one denominational name or another. They may say they believe. But they do so from quite a distance, if at all. Or they’ll tell you that they are okay. But this leads to Hell if they are not saved – born again. If you believe Jesus died for your sins and have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are born again.

Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the first step in humility. Believe it or not, you can only take that step with the foreknowledge of God, knowing that you will accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But no one is left out of the equation. That is to say; Christ died for whosoever. Therefore, whosoever would receive, which includes all of humanity but not all of humanity, will accept. Have you said that prayer on the link “Savior”?

James 4:1-10
1 What causes quarrels, and what causes fights among you? Is it not this that your passions are at war within you? 2 You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. 4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
