Week 02_2026
Q ) What is the difference between positional and relational righteousness?
Your Comment. Please,
These terms relate to our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. When you receive Jesus as your Savior, you are positioned to enter Heaven. You are saved not because you are so good and not too bad. You are saved because God ordained you and saved you before the foundations of the world were created. All that there is to know about you and what you will do tomorrow is known to God before you were born. It’s all scripture. I repeat this because I know it’s a little difficult to believe. He loves you with an eternal love, and nothing can change that. And since you have a heart to say yes to His Son, Jesus Christ, you are saved. Nothing of ourselves that we can boast. Nothing above, below, or anywhere else can separate us from that love.
Romans 8:37-39 BSB 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Even if you bury your talent, as we read in the parable of the talents, you are saved. Think about it. Why would Jesus give someone work to do for the kingdom who is not saved? I’m sure there are many disagreeing right now because you thought the person who saw God as a harsh ruler was not saved. But that is not the case. I’ll mention a respected theologian/preacher’s name: Charles Stanley states that this is not hell. There is weeping and gnashing of teeth, which shows us the severity of living a carnal life as opposed to living for God. The book is titled Eternal Security. I have heard other scholars and well-known preachers say the same thing.
Matthew 25:28-30 28 Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents. 29 For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 30 And throw that worthless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
The relational aspect of our salvation concerns following Christ. Pick up your cross and follow Me, Jesus has told us. Don’t create crosses that do not exist in your attempt to be holy. Don’t beat your back or your neighbors’ back with the proverbial chain. But instead, follow Christ. His Word is light, and His Word is a lamp and a light upon our lives. Joy unspeakable. Don’t think God is not concerned for you. He sent His Son to die in your place on the Cross. He did that for you! Enter into the narrow path.
Now, with faith, confession, and repentance, we are relationally proper with the Lord. But we must not be anything like the fearful servant who buried his talent. Now that person may be backslidden due to ignorance, more and the attacks of the enemy, the flesh and the soul. But trust in God and His love, and His love will bring repentance in you. You will see His yoke is light.
Q ) 1 Being bold does not come naturally for most people. How can you receive boldness in the face of trials and persecution?
Your Comment. Please,
That is to be still and know God. When you know God, you understand that this world may kill the body, but it cannot kill the eternal state of the redeemed. You have to walk by faith and not by sight. This world will deceive you. satan’s strategy is to get you to fear and doubt. But you are more than a conqueror due to God’s Spirit in you. That is the Hope of Glory that we know is coming one day, that resides in us. Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, you too can be raised up in newness of life on those days that seem so harsh. And eventually, we will be granted our bodies renewed, restored to an eternal state in Heaven.
Q ) 2 Discuss the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice, granting us the boldness to access the throne of grace. What is the significance of coming to Him with faith?
Your Comment. Please,
Faith: The evidence of things hoped for! The Hebrew children hoped for the Messiah. Ever since pain, suffering, and death entered, they hoped for death to be conquered. They knew it was not natural. There is no such thing as natural death as we coin the phrase today. So God has provided a way for us to enter the throne of Grace, which is made available through Jesus Christ, who conquered death. He is the First Fruit, which means there will be many more. That includes me, and you praise God. Every human being longs and thirsts for righteousness in some way. We all know things are not right. Things could be better. Those of us in Christ Jesus have now been given the boldness to enter into God’s presence, not in a building made with hands, but the third Heaven itself, where God resides and sits on His Throne. He is calling you today, so do not harden your heart. God’s love will wash you clean.
Q ) 3 Discuss what it means to be an imitator of God as dearly loved children. How does the Holy Spirit help us to be bold?
Your Comment. Please,
Jesus walked in grace and power. He could forgive the sinner and overturn the tables of the money changers at the temple. That two-edged sword is so sharp that it could discern the motivations behind our actions. We need that discernment, and it is given to us by the Holy Spirit in us.
Q ) 4
a) In Acts 4:13, the Jewish leaders recognized that Peter and John had been with Jesus. Why were they astonished?
b) What is the significance of their being bold and having supernatural abilities regardless of their education or status? How does their testimony impact your life?
Your Comment. Please,
I have been seeing and am amazed as I witness young Christians in the Lord speak with boldness and astonishing theological accuracy on certain topics. That is the Holy Spirit in You! Just being a willing servant makes you an empty vessel that the Lord can fill with His Glory.
Q ) 5
a) In Joshua 1:9, the Lord commanded Joshua to be strong, to be bold, and not to be afraid. What was the reason that he could have such confidence?
b) How does knowing that the Lord your God is with you wherever you go give you courage for your daily life?
Your Comment. Please,
It has set my eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my Faith.
Q ) 6 Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.
Your Comment. Please,
Prayer:
Father, I thank you that you have promised us and given us your promise, Your Son Jesus Christ. We now have our life in Him (Acts 17:28), all due to your Great Love and passion for humanity. I hope and pray for all who come across this lesson that they take their eyes off the circumstance and seek that which comes from the Lord and not the things of this world, the flesh, or the enemy in whatever form it comes in. We thank you for this new year, 2026, where your justice and grace are on display. May we have ears to hear and eyes to see Your Glory and Your Passion for the lost, and may we claim Your Truth and the Gospel boldly to this lost and dying generation. Amen.
Prayer Request: If you have a testimony, a healing, or a prayer need, please share it in the comments section below.
Share with us what God is doing in your life and what your prayer needs are – Comment.
Pray with one another and for one another, especially for those with specific needs or prayer requests. Please pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai. Anyone with a suggestion can post a comment, email me, or do both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission, such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are included in each weekly email I send. Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. Christians should not be given over to situations but should take appropriate actions when the waves rage. God bless you and keep you! Please respond to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions. Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video, not necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggests. Tell us what God is saying to you. Please share it with us, but first, watch this week’s lesson video or read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.
God Bless, and thank you,
Scott.
