Week 09_2026
Q ) Discuss what happened on Pentecost when the disciples yielded to the Holy Spirit. What will happen if we yield to Him?
Your Comment. Please,
Yielding to the Holy Spirit allows God to work in your life, to give you words of knowledge, prophecy, Gifts of healing, and the power of God right on your lips. And gifts of tongues.
Q ) 1 The Holy Spirit is the Master of the spirit realm, which means He is the Master of prayer. How does having the Best of the best dwelling in us impact our prayer life? What should our response to the Holy Spirit always be?
Your Comment. Please,
The Holy Spirit is our Compass while we traverse this life in this fallen state in our fallen bodies. He is God and knows all that there is to know, and we need to be in submission to the Holy Spirit. I remember hearing that this is the process of sanctification. Where the Flesh and the world and the devil say go this way, but the Holy Spirit, communicating with our spirit, directs us, and we need to tell the soul that is the “mind, will and emotions” fall in line with what God has told us directly in his word and the words spoken to us through God’s Holy Spirit indwelling us. And our prayers should be based on the guidance of what the Holy Spirit gives us as we go before God and put our requests and Thanksgiving at the altar.
Q ) 2 We, like the disciples in Acts 2, are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a witness for Jesus. What does this look like in everyday life?
Your Comment. Please,
I took a course many years ago called apologetic evangelism. It taught us how to communicate the gospel in the various ways that Paul shows us in the book of Acts. How he communicated with various sects and People based upon their background and knowledge. That’s one of the best courses I’ve taken on the Word of God. And more practically, we need to know how to communicate effectively in this broken place to broken people, which we ourselves are, overcoming by the Holy Spirit indwelling us.
We cannot go about beating people with a stick or treating them like lepers, expecting them to receive Christ. But God enables people to come to know Him since He knows whether they would accept Him or not before they were born. Still, God gave them free will to choose, but He knows what they will do before the world was created. It’s got to do with that time thing we talked about in several past weekly Bible studies.
For me, I cannot stop sharing the Gospel. I cannot stop talking about my Savior and trying to live my life as if it were a letter God has written on my heart through His Holy Spirit indwelling me, which has transformed me and made me a new creation. Of course, this world has stereotyped what that should look like, and so has the church. But the Word of God stands true, and its effectiveness must be able to witness to people from various cultures, backgrounds, and situations. Their soul is the most important. That it be transformed by the renewing of their mind, but that can only happen once the Holy Spirit indwells them through the act of salvation which guy so graciously offered on the cross 2000 years ago. So, what can we sacrifice? What can we do to appease God and bring the knowledge of his son into this broken Place?
Q ) 3 According to Galatians 5:16, as we yield to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, we abandon the cravings of our self-life. Discuss our responsibility to yield in this process. How does this inward process transfer to outward behavior and freedom from worldly vices?
Your Comment. Please,
The Holy Spirit is like a Schoolmaster, Comforter, a small but still voice in our consciousness that tells us the way we must go. The world will disillusion us, the fallen people in this world, with the resolution to live worldly, but the body of Christ must be in one accord, moving forward towards that Heavenly City in unison. And if Christ walked the hill of Calvary carrying the Cross for all to see, I think we can do our part and follow what we have been told inwardly and outwardly for all to see, as we have been told within the words of our Bible. It is the Word Made Alive, Christ Himself, indwelling us, and we are to be in unison as Jesus prayed for us to be. God is so good, and we must set ourselves as if we were a lamp on a hill for all to see. And our voice should carry the good news of salvation and nothing less.
Q ) 4 What is the difference between self-help or striving to change yourself versus yielding to the Holy Spirit’s transformation? How can you tell the difference?
Your Comment. Please,
It is Christ in us, the Hope of Glory! His presence within us makes us into a new creation, and the things of this world grow strangely dim. Though there is a place for good counseling, the Holy Spirit, our Counselor, and the love He has for His creation. Nothing could do you better than to have God’s Holy Spirit indwelling you and knowing what the Word of God teaches us. But it’s up to each person to make the resolution of understanding and knowing what the Bible teaches – that we must be saved, and if not, we are lost, not only in this life but in the next. And as Believers in Christ, we ourselves must depend upon the written Word, and the nudging of the Holy Spirit within us, showing us the things God desires and the things He wishes us to abstain from, even if they are not necessarily evil, because God has a different plan perhaps for your life and my life. Or just simple instructions on which way to literally walk down the street at times.
Q ) 5 Romans 2:4 expresses that it is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. Discuss the difference between doing what’s right because you love Him versus fear of punishment. How does receiving the love of God motivate you to live?
Your Comment. Please,
I remember being involved in various witnessing events that different churches have held. It was as if we were walking into a leper colony, handing people tracks at the end of a long pole, trying to make sure the stain of their sin does not touch our pharisaic garments. If you’re a male, don’t talk to a female, and if you’re a female, don’t talk to a male. I can understand the logic in that, but if that’s the level of our understanding and ability, perhaps we should not be involved in evangelistic outreaches.
That is not the church as a whole, but the individuals involved, who are unable to interact with Society without falling into the snare this world offers. The first one mentioned here, where we were just to stick a track into someone’s face and not be involved in anything more than that, to me, seemed as if it would be an insult. Not that I wouldn’t stand on a corner and hand out Bible tracks, but to have a whole group of people march out there, just point tracks at people and nothing else, and be told not to do anything else if a conversation should arise, seems a bit off the scale. That is not what the Apostle Paul did. That is not what Jesus did; He ministered to people. That Word of God has to be made alive within you, and a compassion within you must be greater than just standing out there like a machine, not wanting to converse or interact with people based on their cultural backgrounds or their gender. The power of God has the ability to change anyone, but we must follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, of course, in all that we do.
Q ) 6 Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.
Your Comment. Please,
Prayer: Dear Father God, I ask and pray that you would give us more of your Holy Spirit, your love indwelling us, that He may fall upon us in such a manner that the compassion within our hearts grows for the people that are lost. That we would study to show ourselves approved, and that we would be a lamp set on a hill, ready for the world to see. An epistle written upon our hearts that we are truly the children of God, witnessed by the love we have for one another and the world about us, which is fading away. I thank you, God, that you have chosen us before we ever had a chance to really come to know You, and that You enabled us to say yes to Your Son, Jesus Christ, through Your enduring love and compassion and long-suffering. Teach us to be more like Jesus Christ, Your Son, who has shown us You, my Lord God, our heavenly father. Amen
Prayer Request: If you have a testimony, a healing, or a prayer need, please share it in the comments section below.
Share with us what God is doing in your life and what your prayer needs are – Comment.
Pray with one another and for one another, especially for those with specific needs or prayer requests. Please pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai. Anyone with a suggestion can post a comment, email me, or do both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission, such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are included in each weekly email I send. Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but they cannot completely control us. Christians should not be left to situations but should take appropriate action when the waves rage. God bless you and keep you! Please respond to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in this week’s home fellowship video. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions. Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video, not necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggests. Tell us what God is saying to you. Please share it with us, but first, watch this week’s lesson video or read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.
God Bless, and thank you,
Scott.
