Welcome to week 19 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link.
Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson.
I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.
Week 19_2023
Q o Discuss the correlation between being sent by God and having authority.
Being under the authority of the Lord: That is key. Sometimes it is not easy to understand whose authority we should be under regarding churches, pastors, and others in leadership. Do they really know what God wants for us? Do they really hear from God? Do they cling to denominational beliefs that we may or may not agree to? I would say most of the time, in a Bible clinging church, we can trust those in authority. But listen first to the guiding of the Holy Spirit, Who is the Authority inside of you Who is greater than he that is in the world.
You may be a baby Christian, but God’s Holy Spirit dwells in you, and all of hell submits to His authority. In Jesus’ Name, you are the authority over the forces of darkness. Now you have to be within the Church’s cooperative anointing to come against powerful entities – God has given us the Authority. God Himself indwells us!
Jesus’ Name is the authority given to the believer. Without being saved, without having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we have no authority except for what God has regulated to protect humanity, described as Common Grace. Only in Saving Grace do we have the Authority of the Sons of God as described in the New Covenant.
You may ask, ‘Am I sent?’ and the answer is that you are sent by God. But you have to know your position and Whose Authority you are under first and foremost.
Now which direction should I go in? Good question! I had so many questions as a young believer. I’m very technical, and that is a drawback when all one has to do is listen to what God is saying. I was not good at that. I was not sure if I was hearing from God or not. I believed I had to hold on to my stuff, and how else could I live? But God was moving powerfully in my life.
Q1. Describe the connection between Jesus’ submission to the Father and His authority. According to Matthew 28:18-20 and Luke 10:19, how does Jesus’ authority impact our authority as believers?
Jesus says he only does what the Father shows Him. Jesus’ walk was guided by God the Father. Jesus’ heart was that of the Father. He did not operate on His own. We, too, have to be in this submission.
As God reveals His power and Love to you as you minister, we have to remember it is Him. We lay our crowns at His feet. He is worthy, The Lamb is spotless, and unless Christ builds the house, we labor in vain.
Q2. What is the difference between spiritual authority and physical power? Who can operate in God’s authority?
We wrestle not against flesh or blood but against principalities. He, God, has to be our shield and exceeding great reward.
Genesis 15:1
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.”
NASB 1977
Psalm 18:30
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
BSB
Q3. What is the only thing that demons respond to?
God’s indwelling Holy Spirit moving – working in the believer.
Q4. Discuss the danger of being blinded by pride in ministry. What causes this to happen?
This reminds me of Nebuchadnezzar’s prideful view of all he had. It is all God’s. All things were created for His pleasure. He died on the Cross for those whom He loved. Without Him, we are sheep without a shepherd.
Q5. Discuss how to remain humble, keeping ourselves in the grace and favor of God.
Prayer: Prayer is one way to understand we must thank God for the day we are given and ask Him to go before us.
Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.
Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai.
If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly.
Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. Christians should not be given over to situations but take appropriate actions when the waves rage.
God Bless you and keep you!
Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions.
Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggest. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or/and read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.
God Bless, and thank you,
Scott
