Don’t Give Up!

How do we connect with the Holy Spirit? The Bible tells us without “Faith,” it is impossible to please God.

What comes to mind is Simeon’s story in the book of Luke chapter two, starting at verse twenty-six.

Simion knew that Baby Jesus is the Messiah. Perhaps he heard of the story of John the Baptist and Mary’s miraculous birth? He obviously believed. And so did Anna.

He had faith and knew the scripture – the prophecy of Isaiah that the Messiah shall be a light to the Gentiles.

Jesus did not perform any miracles as of yet. He was just a baby. But people already knew and had faith in Jesus as the Messiah. Yet the intellectual of the day, the priest, could not recognize Yeshua even after He raised the dead. So some of them killed the resurrected Lasurus to hide the fact that Jesus does miracles. Although priests could recite the Bible from memory, they could not see God while He stood in front of them.

Luke 2:33-35
33 And His father and mother were marveling at the things having been spoken concerning Him. 34 And Simeon blessed them and said to His mother, Mary:

“Behold, this Child is appointed for the falling and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against—

35 and

A sword also will go through your own soul—
so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

God is with the Faithful: God will never forsake you, nor will He tempt you. The World and the flesh do not believe, But God is Truth, and He dwells in you if you have received Him as Lord and Savior!

John 10:22-30
22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

30

I and my Father are one.”
