How to Wage Local Warfare – Week 31
How to Wage Local Warfare
What can you do to wage local warfare in your community? Even if people don’t recover or aren’t raised from the dead, how will you keep going forward in the mission?
You have to keep going forward: Imagine how the disciples felt after Jesus was crucified and buried. Even though Jesus told them himself that all these things would take place, they presumed that the mission of the Messiah had failed. I guess it’s one thing to read or hear someone say something and then wander through the trauma, and the devastation of all that would take place during a Roman crucifixion would leave one in complete despair. Nonetheless, when the disciples received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, they were ready to go into action! They spoke with new languages; they spoke boldly and had discernment with words of knowledge. So we no longer put our faith in what we see but in the unseen. And that faith allows us to walk on the waves and difficulties of this life. We have to be aware and be ready to give the support we have through the Comforter – the Holy Spirit.
What kind of resistance do people put up when you are witnessing to them? What are their most significant sticking points about accepting Jesus?
Given the opportunity to go into the details, at least to some extent of salvation without being outright rejected, you find that some people have other spiritual identities or religious beliefs. Some of which can be very dangerous. I know they’re searching. They just haven’t been given any milk or meat from the Word to nourish to have a firmer foundation. I have my business cards which are little tracks, and a website printed upon it along with the Salvation Prayer. In this way, people some information if they’re willing to look into the miraculous Word of God. But some of the things I hear are, “I am okay,” or “I belong to this denomination or that the denomination or they may say I believe, but in reality, they may not have accepted. Perhaps they have not experienced God’s love more deeply and maybe are already saved.
1. What do you have within you that you’ve received from the Lord that you can wage war locally? It doesn’t have to be money; it can be a word of encouragement or the ability to lay hands on somebody.
First and foremost, we have Love indwelling us. That is God himself, the greater one greater than the one that is in this world. And we are sojourners here, so we have to do our best and pray, not partake of the strife and the things of this world, to keep our focus on that heavenly city and point others to that path. The greatest gift we can give is that Love indwelling us.
2. How has God been faithful to you when you desired encouragement, and how has He supplied for you when you had a need?
When you think about it, you have to marvel. What I have to say for myself is that I had the benefit of being raised in a home with Christian beliefs, a born-again mom, and an era of conservatism was the norm. But that quickly started to change as the “do as you feel – free love” generation of the late ’60s and early ’70s came about. I was only a teenager at the time. The Jesus movement had already begun. There were songs on the radio promoting gospel themes. Those songs were filled with the Holy Spirit and played through the airwaves on those old transistor radios.
3. Take time to discuss the individual needs of the group. Minister, pray and encourage one another at this time.
This is where we have to participate. We’re getting to the point where there are enough members who are connecting through email s and are willing to set a time and a place for a gathering. I hope more can join and more with asked to do so. Emails are sent out every week with explicit directions on how to access the website and the blog. You can post your comments by responding on the contact form or by email if you are already in the group. You will receive a password to comment and answer the questions that Dr. Kevin Zadai asks of us every week.
Thank you and God Bless,
