Welcome to week 31 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link.

Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson.

I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.

Week 31_2023

Q What does the Holy Spirit empower us to do, and what should we focus on?

The Holy Spirit creates the life force that raised Jesus from the dead within us. He empowers us to walk as victors over scorpions and snakes. We must focus on His Word and preach the Gospel to this fallen world.

Q 1) Ecclesiastes 3:1 states that there is a time and a season for everything. Why is it important to understand that there are some seasons reserved only for the Father to know?

We do not know when the rapture of the Church will take place. It is good that we do not. Our focus must be on sharing the Good News and occupying this place with God’s Holy Spirit illuminating from within us.

Q 2) How does Dr. Zadai describe disappointments in this study? How can we keep our appointments with God, according to Acts 1:7–8?

We must stay focused on His truth and hear that still, small voice guiding us daily.

We have to have a time set aside for the Lord each day. I have to say I missed the boat on more than one occasion. I would have been much further along in fulfilling God’s calling on my life if I had stayed a bit closer to the Lord. If you agree here concerning your call – if you feel you should be further along, do not focus on what could have been. Instead, move on with the Lord and continue the journey. As Dr. Kevin says, in Christ, you cannot lose.

Q 3) Why did Jesus marvel at the centurion’s faith in Matthew 8:8–10? Discuss the connection between understanding authority and having faith.

A man under authority does not argue with those who are in charge. Being under authority allows the individual to do what those who reject authority cannot do. Humility is a precious commodity as it opens doors no one can shut. From his respect for those above him, the Centurian knew that Jesus only needed to give the word. He saw Jesus as a master. He saw Jesus as one with authority, which he respected, and he knew what to expect from a man like Jesus.

I took a city bus just the other day when a fellow got on who was upset with an inspector that was standing at the front of the bus who he felt was too close for comfort. He challenged the inspector and his authority with vigor. He was very brazen, to say the least. I said a prayer for both of them and that I would get to my destination without incident.

We must have respect for authority. We limit ourselves in so many ways when we do not follow.

Another situation occurred the same day when a woman allowed her son to play with a soap bubble gun that ran on batteries while riding on a ferry. The soap and sound spilled all over the ferry, including passengers’ faces and clothing. The soap also caused the floor to be slippery. A D.O.T. agent told the woman to stop alloying her son to play with the bubble machine. She screamed and yelled racism. I explained the situation to my co-worker, and he said one of our fellow employees had their four-year-old son slip and bang his head on the floor due to a soap bubble toy making the floor slippery.

Jesus is the ultimate authority regarding humanity and all that is in creation. Some saw this on Jesus’ eighth day on Earth, and a pagan Roman saw Jesus had power over nature and the unseen realm.

Q 4) What does it mean to trust God with all your heart and acknowledge Him in all your ways, according to Proverbs 3:5–6? What does God promise to those who do this?

We have to trust in God as the Centurian did. He trusted and had faith more than the scholars of the Torah. You must trust in the Word more than the evening news, than the Doctor’s report than all this world has to say.

Q 5) Acts 17:24–27 talks about how God appointed us to be in our generation. Even though satan is the (little g) god of this world, how can we give God control of our lives and impact our generation?

God has us in mind in the current situation this world is in. No matter where you are on earth, God has set you to sit in Heavenly places and to rule and reign with Him. This world may take our life, but death is swallowed in victory – the victory of the Cross. God wants us to have life and life more abundantly in the here and now. We must walk by faith and not by sight.

Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.

Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai.

If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly.

Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. Christians should not be given over to situations but take appropriate actions when the waves rage.

God Bless you and keep you!

Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions.

Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggest. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or/and read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.

God Bless, and thank you,
Scott
