God Bless You!
———

So, here is something obvious. That is, if you have fleshy habits, specifically habits you do not wish to rid yourself of, you are willfully living in sin. Yet, today, many people think they can live in a sinful manner of one sort or another and be considered correct in God’s eyes. Therefore, they have no intention of repenting. Instead, they boast about their sins and consider themselves just fine with God.

Now you may be struggling; we all do in some way, with sin. But, that struggle means you are on the right path. We wrestle not against flesh and blood.

Ephesians 6:12
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
KJV

We cannot judge the souls of individuals, and I strongly suggest we do not, but we do have God’s Word right before us telling us those who live by the soulish – fleshy desires of this fallen body on this fallen world will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

These letters are not being written to secularists somewhere in Greece or Rome. They are written to the Church.

Now I’ve heard scholars discuss a variation between the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God. And I have to agree with them and that they are two different locations. Now the Kingdom of God is the literal Heaven – I would say what we consider the Third Heaven.

Some scholars say this Heaven is not the Heaven that comes down to the earth and that it may very well be a planet. I think we confuse the esoteric idea of Heaven and what it might be. Our world here has many metaphysical properties. King David fought with a Giant. Moses parted the Red Sea, and the Hebrews walked on dry ground. Peter walked on water. But we have difficulty dealing with what Heaven might be. Our world seems to be composed of both esoteric and physical features we can find in geology textbooks. I would imagine Heaven to be a bit more mystical from our perspective in the here and now.

That’s a much better description, I would think, than cupid angels sitting on clouds in diapers shooting arrows at unsuspecting victims, getting them to fall in love.

We do not want to walk in and out of churches and spend eternity in hell with all joking aside. So, as Paul’s letter tells us, we have to nail those passions to the Cross. We have to submit our ungodly lusts to the Cross, confess our weaknesses, and ask God to forgive us and give us strength. This is what I do.

Now the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. And unfortunately, the enemy can come through the words or/and actions of a born-again believer. We have seen that with Peter.

An angel appears in a church, goes to the front of the church, touches the arm of one of the leaders, who later has a severe case of arthritis in that arm. This was not a fallen angel. This individual was speaking evil of the congregants. And I know this was the reason for this correction given that day. We prayed for the healing of this individual who was healed.

People will raise their hands in the church and call out hallelujah! At the same time, they’ll sin against a brother or sister and not think twice about it. So, it is not just the carnality of sensuality. It may be anger, hatred, or anything that is not of the Kingdom of God. If we are born again, that new creation, our old passions of the fallen ways of this world have to be put aside. They should grow strangely dim. As Paul tells us lay all hindrances aside, not forgetting the prize.

Philippians 3:12-15
12 Not that already I have obtained it or already have been perfected, but I am pursuing, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing indeed: Forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Therefore as many as are mature should be of this mind. And if you are minded in anything differently, even this God will reveal to you. 16Nevertheless, to that which we have attained, we are to walk by the same.

I heard a message in church recently. And the pastor spoke about not believing a bad report. It seems we are so confounded in so many different ways while here on this fallen planet. But we have the Word of God and the greater One in the universe residing within us. God Himself has made us His temple. So, to walk in power and strength is to be not dismayed by what we see here or what other people may do. But what we must do is walk circumspectly, read the Word of God, pray, fast, and do the will of Him who sent us to reach the world with the Gospel.

Let us look at one of the questions in the transcript of this message by Dr. Kevin Zadai.

Q. What are some ways you can manage yourself when dealing with the enemy who is working through someone?

A. Well, getting back to that message the pastor was preaching, when someone begins to speak evil about another person in the church, we need to halt them. I think the tongue of the believer or anyone but especially the believer causes more damage than any other part of the human body to the Church.

I heard messages along this line before regarding keeping your mind clear of slanderous discussions about other believers. It is the most crucial thing we can do as it will unexpectedly seep into your mind. I tell people the deadliest poison is the one you cannot smell, taste, or see.

How would you believe that people in the church who you know who love the Lord cause harm to you and themselves? Besides, you’re listening to sister/brother so and so who love the Lord. What harm can come from them speaking evil or “holding someone accountable” – which is a great way to cover up a sin with a wrapping of divine intentions? We do this without knowing the difference.

Now, I started this message by holding all of us “accountable,” as the letter to Galatians does just that.

So, you see how the confusion can set in and how iniquity can find its way into our lives in the most unsuspecting way. I have seen the poison of slander destroy the hearers. As James tells us, the course of nature itself is set on the fire of hell by the tongue.

This includes all of us and myself, of course. Once the enemy has crept in, even if it’s just words being heard by your ears and your lips reciting those words once again, the damage is done. Expect those flames to kindle a blaze. How would you put the fire out?

One thing we can all do is remember that the blood of Jesus speaks of better things. The blood of Jesus is what covers and protects us. So, if you have failed, welcome to the Church and ask God to forgive you and sin no more.

I don’t mind correcting someone when they speak of a pastor or another person in the church in a degrading way. I told someone at one time that when we speak evil of another, all of hell wants to agree with us. Hell wants to use human beings to harm one another in any way possible.

So, as Dr. Kevin tells us by quoting scripture, “to walk in the power of the resurrection, we have to say no to the manifestations of the flesh, which are lying, cheating, jealousy, quarreling lustful pleasures, sorcery, and witchcraft.

Now, these things we struggle with in the here and now, but if we confess our sins. repent and seek the power of that resurrected life, we can have victory.

If you’re struggling, especially in lustful passions, since these passions are a powerful part of the human anatomy and our psychology, we have to depend on God’s grace and our agreement with His Word.

If you feel hurt because of things that beset you, your remorse is proof you have not forsaken God nor has God forsaken you!

Of course, you will need the compassion and association of brothers and sisters who do not ridicule and isolate you. That will only make the situation worse. Don’t give up on God because God has never given up on you.

People may speak evil of you and show their resentment toward you, but Christ has died on the Cross for you specifically and you are accepted in the beloved family of God. Regardless of what so-called spiritual leaders may say or do. You can experience that love of God with a prayer.

There is a simple four-letter word that actually would solve such a complex issue. That four-letter word is love. If we can just love one another, there would not be an issue here whatsoever. Love would overcome all of the issues in the body. And if we put God first, that is if we put love first, the issues that we have in the body with begin to cease.

Q. What will you choose this day, the Spirit or the flesh? Why? How will you live in the ways of God?

Truly we have a choice each moment and each day. The Bible speaks of praying without ceasing. That is to have the mind of Christ and let the Holy Spirit salt our words, our intentions, and our thoughts. Boy, do I have to do that!

Q. What kind of fruit is produced when choosing the way of the Spirit? How do you yield to the Spirit?

It amazes me to see the choices I make, and words that come out of my mouth seem to appear magically. I could thank God that He leads the way through the day. Instead of yielding to my weaknesses and the things of this world, I can live by the Spirit. Praise God for His goodness!

Deuteronomy 28 spells it out very clearly.

1 “Now if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God and are careful to follow all His commandments I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you will obey the voice of the LORD your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city
and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed,
as well as the produce of your land
and the offspring of your livestock—
the calves of your herds
and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and kneading bowl will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in
and blessed when you go out.

Deuteronomy goes on to say that the opposite will take place if we disobey.

This is the same God we see in the New Testament – Jesus said if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. So, we say God is love, which of course He is, but at the same time we have our free will, and we have to come to an agreement with what God has told us in His Word.

Do not argue with the accuracy of the Bible. If you came upon this page in a search and you are reading this, know the scriptures have been put to more scrutiny than any other literary work in the history of this world. And it has more cross-reference documents than any other document ever written before. As a matter of fact, nothing comes close. Homer’s Iliad has a few hundred cross-reference documents. The Bible has tens of thousands in several languages. If you are a technical type, read The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel.

Let me give you my testimony here. I knew of Christ. I grew up in a Christian home. I was exposed to a sensual life at a young age. Being a teenager in the early ’70s, one of the cliches we heard was, “If it feels good, do it.” But at the same time as we say in the church, the Lord raised a standard, that is in the flood of iniquity came the Gospel and a mini-revival as it has been deemed began. It is called the Jesus Movement. I didn’t get saved at the time, but the Holy Spirit was so powerful that the Gospel was being heard and became popular in secular media.

Later in my life, I came to grips with the Gospel. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I hesitated prior due to my lifestyle. I am a male and am attracted to females. I was living a sensual lifestyle. I did not want to break free of my lifestyle. This is why I stood away from the Church and the Gospel. I thought it would interfere with me finding a wife and being happy in this life. But, of course, the exact opposite was true; I found joy unspeakable and I don’t say that as a cliché in Christendom. I say that as something I experience. I experienced the love of God in a manner that was overwhelming. So, I suggest whatever it is that may be hindering you from coming to the knowledge – that love – that God has for you, I would say just give it a try – that is accepting Jesus to come into your life to be your Savior and to forgive you of your sins in a wholehearted way.

There are links to a prayer specifically to do just that, or you can just say what is on your heart. But make it a commitment and you will be assured of your salvation and of your eternal being. That is God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whomsoever would accept Him would not perish but have eternal life; John 3:16 – my paraphrase.

Dr. Kevin Zadai tells us you are royalty. That is your become a son or daughter of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I may be preaching to the choir here, but I know there could just very well be people who will come across this eventually who do not have a relationship with God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So, I just want to say the Apostle Paul – Rabbi Shaul if you prefer – tells us that Jesus is the Second Adam basically implying that we must be patterned after this new creation.

Jesus set the standard for humanity. And by asking Jesus to be your Lord and your Savior, you are this new creation and the temple of the Holy Spirit which makes you acceptable in God’s sight regardless of what lifestyle you lived in, regardless of what has happened to you, regardless of what you did or did not do.

Below is part of the transcript from Week Seven of 2022:

• When you choose the Spirit, you know you are royalty.

• You don’t choose sin.

• You don’t try to do things on your own because you know you have rights and privileges as a child of God.

• You stand on the covenant with God.

• You stand on Sonship.

• You know you have an inheritance with God.

• You look for ways for God to manifest His benefits through you.

• You put focus on who you are and your identity in Christ.

Transformation takes time, and it is a process of healing, but through God’s love, you will persevere. Remember, He first loved you, and He chose you first. There is nothing too great for God. You will overcome!
