Ah, from the head to the heart. Did you know that scientists are calling the heart the second brain due to the complexity of the nervous system?

We process information with our brain and store it like data on a hard disk drive. But it is made alive by our heart. God gave us this so that we can perceive and find Him.

I watched a program about a cultural festival where a statue of Mary and her son Jesus were on a float. As the float made its way, the youth would jump up onto the platform and grasp for the statutes. An onlooker might think them a bit silly, but I thought perhaps they were grasping for something God had expressed to them. Just think of us who have had Bible lessons. We have the Word living in us. I believe they were trying to grasp an expression of love God has revealed to them. I know they should not be leaping onto statutes. But that is all they knew.

How would you respond to a glass of water if you had none for several days and the climate was dry? This is what the cultural festival brought to mind. So I thought they must in some way have tasted the goodness of the Lord and were trying to grasp for more.

To know the goodness of the Lord in a deep river and know that we can enter the Holy of Holy at any time should encourage us to do much more. Always be ready to give a reason for the hope in you!

1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect,

The crowds of jumpers were trying to express their hope. I’m sure they were not excited about a statue but the person of Christ who had touched them somehow during their life. We have to think and ask, “What has God desired for me before the foundations of the world were created”? There must be something about me worth dying for. God sees it. God sees it in you too! But do we have a grasp? Are we like the youth leaping, trying to grasp for something more? Are those giant radio telescopes looking for a signal from space doing anything different? Has nature touched them so much that they ask there has to be more? Unfortunately, the Darwinian theory of evolution has taken God out of the picture for them, but I think they want to make sure that we are not alone.

Now, what is it that we have, and how do we seek God’s will in our lives? Can there be more?

If we remember God loves us and His intends to do us good, we should believe that He does not want to hold anything back from us in life and ministry. Can our lives be a light – a beacon that people wonder, “what is that hope in you?” They may ask in ways that are not obvious. But it is still a question in disguise.

God Bless and thank you,
Scott
