Welcome to week 10 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link.

Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson.

I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.

Week 10_2023

Q Discuss what it means to chase God and His Kingdom with abandonment.

Let us paste the scripture verse that this question refers to here:

Matthew 6:33 TPT
So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from Him. Then all these less important things will be given abundantly.

Now that is the passion translation given in our study. If anyone is taking Dr. Kevin’s College accredited courses, you know he suggests looking at several Bible versions. I did that and included additional verses surrounding our key verse:

Matt 6:26-34 MSG
26 Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.
27 “Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch?
28 All this time and money wasted on fashion — do you think it makes that much difference? Instead of looking at the fashions, walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They never primp or shop,
29 but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them.
30 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers — most of which are never even seen — don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?
31 What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving.
32 People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.
33 Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Matt 6:26-34 NKJV
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
NKJV

It is fascinating to see three versions of Jesus’ discussion. How many of you have found as you walked in a cleaner walk in this life that God’s Joy fills your heart and gives you peace? That discernment comes as you begin to walk not in your own understanding but in the ways of the Kingdom with peace and joy as your Garment of Praise!

One thing I can say is that as I get older, I do fuss in front of a mirror a bit more. But my fussing can be due to fretting over the things of this life that are quickly passing away. You may even fret over accomplishing things for the Lord. But I think the more we just sit at the feet of Jesus, the more we will gain and be equipped to do the work the Lord wants us to accomplish. I think we all get ourselves worked up into a frenzy at times just doing what we feel is needed to serve. But before we can get up to pace, we need to have fed on the Word of the Lord.

There is an interesting contrast here between a great king we read about in the Bible, King Nebuchadnezzar, who had it all: The best Nike sneakers, iPhone, IWatch, and Lamborghini. He did not need to fuss about getting more. But he attributed all his gain to his own ability, and I would imagine due to Daniel the Dreamer being at his service, God held Nebuchadnezzar accountable.

If you know the story, this great king was reduced to being nothing more than an animal living in the woods out of his mind for seven seasons till he reasoned that God is the giver of all good things. At that point, the king was restored and praised the God of Daniel and wrote a chapter in the Bible within the Book of Daniel for all to read for the past 2,600 years or so.

When you look in the mirror, never forget to thank God for all you have. Be grateful because He holds all things in existence by the power of His might. That included the Cross and the nails that held Him in place for your sake. It wasn’t nails that held Him but His love for you. Before you were born, God already had you marked out and engraved on the palms of His hands. There are Bible verses referencing all this in the Old Testament. Our flesh, the world, and the devil will lie to you, and that lie can come in many forms, and from lips, you would not expect. Even our own.

When you look in the mirror, see what God sees. God sees the blood of His own precocious Son, Who He sacrificed – God supplied the Lamb – so that He can have you! Never forget that. We can so easily do so in this world, and there is more than enough help to get our thoughts going in the wrong direction.

Q 1. The kingdom of God is constantly advancing. Discuss how it manifests from the unseen realm around us to our natural world.

With all I said here already, let me just add that we need to walk in Kingdom authority and Faith. The persecution, the attacks in our sleep in the form of dreams, illness, and so on are attacks of the enemy; There is a duality here. What I mean to say is that making a greater difference for the Kingdom will get the attention of the enemy, but we are also hidden in Christ. I can walk through the shadow of death and fear no evil. And at the same time, I need to make sure I am aware of my surroundings to avoid any situation that might be a direct attack from the enemy. We must stay in fellowship with the Holy Spirit to avoid the enemy’s devices. We must stay close to the Good Shepheard to avoid the roaring lion who seeks whom he might devour.

Q 2. Discuss how the supernatural endowment of the Holy Spirit empowers us as believers to advance God’s kingdom.

I prayed for my lunch and knew God’s presence changed the atmosphere throughout the cafeteria at a local university where I studied. Now, let me say it’s not so much me but rather God’s Holy Spirit before. I know walking by faith and not in my flesh can bring a supernatural presence, and in God’s presence, sickness has to leave.

Q 3. Romans 14:17 describes the kingdom of God as the realm of the Holy Spirit, not a bunch of rules and restrictions. How does this apply to us, and why is this revelation important?

Love is not a list of do’s and don’ts. Though we need a framework as a guide, of course, love flows from the heart and seeds the future and the realm we live in.

Q 4. Verses like Matthew 5:10 that teach about persecution are often neglected. Why is it crucial for believers to understand that they may suffer when doing what’s right?

Let me just say that by attending Bible College online or in person, you need to be aware and add time to your prayer life. You must sit and bow at the feet of Jesus before you go off on your day.

Q 5. What was Jesus’ motive for sacrificing His life for us? What is the difference between the world’s mindset and a godly perspective concerning giving and serving others?

I mentioned this at the start, but let me say it again because the Cross is Speaking and will continue to do so for eternity. GOD LOVES YOU. He saw you when you stumbled in your walk. He saw you when you failed. He saw you when you sinned. He saw you as His own and was ready to die in your place because His main character is Love. He loves you and will never stop doing so.

For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten (Fathered – by God) Son that whoever would receive Him would have (Eternal Life in Heaven).

Amen!

Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.

Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai.

If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly.

Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. We should not be given over to situations but, as Christians, take appropriate actions when the waves rage.

God Bless you and keep you!

Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions.

Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggest. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or/and read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.

God Bless, and thank you,
Scott
