Welcome to week 12 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link.
Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson.
I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.
Week 12_2023
As I hear Dr. Keven speak, I have heard many different views on tounges. I was influenced by what I heard not to participate. I’m sorry that I did not participate in the gift of tongues. People travel from state to state to attend meetings hoping to attain the gift of tongues. And I remember being at a meeting and seeing two women who traveled from another state to this meeting to participate and receive this gift. They attained the gift, but I had resisted. I believe I could have received it there and then, and the two women being able to discern or see in the spirit confirmed I had resisted, and I could see in the spirit the gift being brought to me. They knew that I knew.
I am so sad about that. I have to fast and pray more. My calling is to pray for churches. I really believe that. So I mention this so that you do not resist the gift or anything God brings to you! God hears you, but we need to let the Spirit pray through us, and I believe and confirm He can do so even in the language you speak already.
Q 1. 1 Corinthians 14:2 states that when we pray in tongues, we are not speaking to people but to God. Paul said he prayed in tongues more than everyone. How does being baptized in the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues empower us to be a witness?
We have to walk in God’s power. We cannot work on our own strengths. Our physical, emotional, and spiritual strengths come from God. Speaking in tongues brings us to a deeper place in our prayer life. As I write this, I’m getting a confirmation from the Spirit that I will speak in tongues. We need to be infused with that power that raised Jesus from the dead, and we have it in God The Holy Spirit residing in us. The Holy Spirit resides in the Believer, and He is called the Comforter. Please, anyone who has experienced this special gift, please give us some feedback in the comments on this question.
Q 2. Romans 8:26-27 explains that Holy Spirit knows the will of God and prays it through us with another language or groanings. Discuss how praying in the Spirit connects us to the heart of God beyond our natural language and lights our path.
Dr. Kevin wants us to address Acts 2:4 as well. God’s Power is just incredible. I remember when I received Christ, I broke down and cried like a baby. I’m not ashamed to say so. I wept for five minutes when I experienced God’s Love indwelling me; God the Holy Spirit filling me was so overwhelming. God is Love. I received words of knowledge on the spot. Don’t let the abuse of the term, love, keep you from God’s Love or from talking about it. Don’t let a culturally – worldly view of God and His love keep you from speaking about love -God- in a manner that speaks from love. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will give us utterances while we write or speak in our native tongue.
Q 3. Why is speaking in tongues so controversial in the body of Christ? Throughout the Book of Acts, people were baptized in the Holy Spirit. How is this understanding relevant to us today?
As a new believer, if you have experienced different – negative suggestions on the gift of tongues, remember it is a gift from God, and we find its use in God’s word. If you easily attain this gift, be sure to use it and do not hinder it at all!
Q 4. Discuss how you can allow God to have His way as an individual or group of believers, even when your nation rejects God.
We have to know God’s Word. The Bible is our Manna. It is life.
Eccl 8:4a
4 Where the word of a king is, there is power:
KJV
Power comes from God. King Nebuchadnezzar learned this and gave God praise. Every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Q 5. Discuss the difference between speaking in tongues to a congregation and privately praying in tongues.
A congregation should have an interpretation where the tongue is given to a group. In private, it is God speaking out what you need. One analogy that comes to mind is when you tune an instrument or equipment by using a tuning fork. You click the tuning fork to get the sound it was designed to produce. When God’s Spirit resounds in us through tongues, God hears exactly where we are and what we need. Our prayers are at a pitch that God understands. Share your thoughts.
Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.
Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai.
If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly.
Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. We should not be given over to situations but, as Christians, take appropriate actions when the waves rage.
God Bless you and keep you!
Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions.
Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggest. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or/and read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.
