Welcome to week 15 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link.

Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson.

I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.

Week 15_2023

Q o Discuss how prayer works as a transaction. How do you receive from God as a child?

One thing is for sure, children are innocent and have their social skills based on their innocent perception. They view the world with eyes that do not have a knowledge of good and evil. They know instinctively what is good and what is not, but they do not have the exposure and/or ability to have evil nurtured into their short life in a manner where they comprehend it.

Children believe and accept what they are told with complete trust. This attitude is what Jesus is telling us we must have regarding His Word.

I believe that is why Jesus tells us if anyone hurts one of these little ones, it would be better for him to have a millstone tied to him and be thrown into the sea.

Matthew 18:3-7
3 And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].
4 Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoever receives and accepts and welcomes one little child like this for My sake and in My name receives and accepts and welcomes Me.
6 But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in and acknowledge and cleave to Me to stumble and sin [that is, who entices him or hinders him in right conduct or thought], it would be better (more expedient and profitable or advantageous) for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be sunk in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe to the world for such temptations to sin and influences to do wrong! It is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the person on whose account or by whom the temptation comes!

Q 1. According to Colossians 3:17, what can you do if you don’t know God’s will for a situation? Discuss the importance of doing everything unto God and being thankful.

Colossians 3:12-17 (NIV)
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
NIV

Colossians 3:8-17 (NKJV)
8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,
10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

The character of the New Man

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
NKJV

Reading Colossians 3:17 in its contents gives us God’s will. We can discern that God is love in these few verses here. So using His Authority, His Name, we also have to have our hearts filled with all the humility seen in those verses.

Q 2. Talk about how invoking the name of Jesus brings God into your situation. Why is it essential to use His name in everything you do?

This is fantastic; I never heard anyone speak like this regarding using Jesus’ name. I recently learned through Dr. Kevin’s Bible college that the name of Jesus invokes His authority. I prayed for healing in the Name of Jesus. We can use His authority to share the Gospel, and for succeeding in our endeavors. The idea that demons have to get out of the way when we are on assignment in Jesus’ Name is a new concept to me. I love the way Dr. Kevin explains the use of Jesus’ name. But we have to remember to employ this powerful tool and have child-like faith that God will make a way.

I remember attending Calvary Chapel Bible College before Kevin started his ministry. I knew the opposition would come at me as I endeavored to go deeper into God’s Word. Now I know I could go boldly out into the world and claim victory in my coming in and going out in JESUS’ NAME. I don’t have to wait like a sheep keeping my eyes open for a wolf who is sure to come, but even the demons have to obey us when we have the Authority of the Son of God. Walk in it!

Q 3. Demons are subject to the name of Jesus and tremble when it is invoked. Why is it important to be proactive in using His name instead of waiting for a problem to arise?

What comes to mind is hiking in an area where there are bears. You have to make some noise to warn the bear that you are in the area. The only real difference is that demons already know you are on your way, but the noise we make is prayers, songs, and speaking out God’s truth using His Name to have our path cleared of any evil or threat.

Q 4. God has literally taken all limits off! Discuss how false teachings rob believers of what God has for them.

I have to say I have never heard anyone like Kevin discuss using the name of Jesus, as we just heard in his message for this week’s lesson! I have a whole new prayer strategy for the rest of my life. There was quite a bit of resistance before I started to prepare my input on this lesson. Now I know why.

A false doctrine, in my view, would be any teaching that beats the back of a believer with a chain. I am not speaking of any particular denomination here. I am speaking to any Jesus follower. You do not need to abuse your neighbor or yourself to appease God. That’s what demons want you to do and think.

Q 5. Think of circumstances where you invoked the name of Jesus, and Heaven intervened on your behalf and share them.

I remember having to go to work very early in the morning. I would have to wake up at 4:15 AM. That’s the middle of the night in my book. But I would pray for the day and its peace, which is what I had when I did pray. If I did not pray, there was always something that would go wrong. The prayer changed the atmosphere completely.

Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.

Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai.

If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly.

Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. Christians should not be given over to situations but take appropriate actions when the waves rage.

God Bless you and keep you!

Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions.

Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggest. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or/and read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.

God Bless, and thank you,
Scott
