Welcome to week 22 of the 2023 Home Fellowship Bible study under Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior Notes Ministry. Here are my comments and insights on Dr. Kevin’s Home Fellowship Lesson for this week. I urge you to share your comments at the Comment link.

Dr. Kevin Zadai’s suggested exercises are listed below. I’ve added my comments here to start the session exercises. See the website Jesus-abc.net and click on the”fellowship” link then “video” to find the corresponding transcript of this week’s lesson.

I may purposely leave a short comment so others might comment on Dr. Kevin’s exercises on the blog. Your comment can be lengthy but stay on topic. You can comment on these questions or anything that strikes you in Dr. Kevin’s discussion. It does not matter if five people have already commented on the same topic/question. You have something to share and do not know whose life you will affect.

Week 22_2023

Q o Read Deuteronomy 28:1–14 and discuss the conditions to open Heaven and receive the blessings of God. Also, what opens the door to curses?

Blessings at Gerizim
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
1 “Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
2 “All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the Lord your God:
NASU

Matthew 5:43-48
43 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy; [Leviticus 19:18; Psalms 139:21,22.]
44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, [Proverbs 25:21,22.]

Proverbs 25:21-22
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
22 For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
BSB

45 To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
47 And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that?
48 You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. [Leviticus 19:2,18.]

Dr. Kevin mentions in his programs that the enemy, the evil spirits, cannot handle love. If you do not let anger and other vices take control of your thinking, the enemy cannot find a place to take hold of you and yours. Remember, Jesus died for us while we were yet sinners.

The enemy uses anyone he can. The saved and the unsaved. The more aligned with the Word of God we are, the less ability he has to use us as his pawn and the less effect his tactics will have upon you. The Word is a double edge sword.

Q 1. What would the fulfillment of John 14:15 look like—if Jesus and the Father came to live with us because we love and obey Him?

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for Righteousness! For they shall be filled!

The Holy Spirit is the flow of living water that fills the thirsty and hungry soul. The things of this world bring famine and desolation. The Word brings life and life more abundantly.

Q 2. Jesus did not do away with the old covenant; He is the fulfillment of it. How did He provide an even better new covenant than the old?

With the Torah written upon the heart, we can tell the mountain to move, and it will move.

Q 3. Deuteronomy 28:1–2 and John 14:15 express that obedience is God’s love language. Discuss the difference between legalism and heartfelt obedience to God.

There’s a big difference and a subtle discrepancy at times. While seeking God’s ways, we might become Pharisees to some extent. Nicodemus knew better, as well as a few others. John leaped in his mother’s womb. Neither John nor Jesus was born, yet John knew.

And while Jesus was yet a baby, another person saw Him and knew:

Luke 2:25-32
25 And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law,
28 then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 “Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word;
30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
32 A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES, And the glory of Your people Israel.”
NASU

Jesus was just a baby, yet those who sought God and were willing to abandon their sin knew Who they were looking at.

Then there were who would not accept the Messiah due to their sins keeping them. Jesus had healed the blind, made the lame walk, and raised the dead. A perverse generation seeks signs. Jesus knew their discrepancies. Jesus was not angry due to a bad day. Their sins became a prison that they wanted to remain in. They could recite the Torah, but they could not accept the Messiah at that time.

Q 4. Discuss the discrepancy that we face in this realm. Why is it important to judge God by His word instead of what we see?

I could not stress enough that God does not send sickness or poverty to us. It’s of the fallen realm. One day when God takes the scroll and loses its seals, He will take this earth back from the enemy. And when we see Him, we shall be as He is, and the Earth will be restored.

Q 5. What is the importance of understanding that God has written a book of destiny for your life according to Psalm 139:16?

God planned to bless us before the foundations of the world were laid. God never intended to harm us, nor did He change His mind to do so. People knew this thousands of years before Jesus was born. So how is it that we don’t get it today, two thousand years after He came to the earth?

Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.

Please remember to pray for me and everyone receiving the weekly email at Warrior Notes Tribeca, including the ministry team and Dr. Kevin Zadai.

If anyone has a suggestion, they can post a comment here, send me an email, or both. What can we do as a body to support a local mission such as the Bowery Mission in NYC? The links for this mission and others like it are in each email I send weekly.

Stay in the Lord, and don’t let anything steal your joy. Circumstances come our way, but circumstances cannot take complete control of us. Christians should not be given over to situations but take appropriate actions when the waves rage.

God Bless you and keep you!

Give us your response to the questions Dr. Kevin Zadai asks us to discuss in the video for this week’s home fellowship. In addition, you might want to share your thoughts on any of the questions for the week’s lesson by adding a Comment on Kevin’s suggested questions.

Share your personal experiences. Comment on any part of the video and not just necessarily the questions Dr. Kevin suggest. Tell us what God is saying to you. Share it with us, but first, make sure to watch this week’s lesson video or/and read the transcript on the Warrior Notes Tribeca website.

God Bless, and thank you,
Scott
